Yoga

“The yoga pose is not the goal. Becoming flexible or standing on your hands is not the goal. The goal is to create space where you were once stuck. To unveil layers of protection you’ve built around your heart. To appreciate your body and become aware of the mind and the noise it creates. To make peace with who you are. The goal is to love,…well, you. Shift your focus and your heart will grow.” ~Rachel Brathen

I believe yoga should be accessible to everyone regardless of age, experience or flexibility. My classes are small, gentle, trauma-informed, and personalized with a focus on stretching, strengthening, breathing and being.

Classes are taught in a warm, light and inviting home studio just off Riverside Drive, West of Wonderland Road. Classes are also available outdoors (seasonally) in my beautiful, tranquil backyard in the northwest area of London, Ontario.

I also offer Shamanic Yoga Classes. What is Shamanic Yoga, you might be wondering? It’s very similar to my usual gentle yoga class with breathing, being, stretching & strengthening with some wonderful additions…

Enjoy and ground as I drum for you, and maybe even sing a healing Indigenous song! Learn how to honour the Four Directions and the Elements (earth, water, fire and air) and move from your head to your heart where you will find more peace, balance and strength.

Classes are offered during the day, evenings and weekends. Sessions range from four to eight weeks in length and the investment is $20 per small, personalized 60-minute class.

Please contact me to try a class or join a session.

Corporate and special event yoga available upon request.

Ayurveda

“Nature has already given us proper instincts for recovering and maintaining balance. Ayurveda principles serve to uncover and sharpen those instincts.” ~Deepak Chopra, Perfect Health

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is the “sister science of yoga”. It is a time-tested healing modality that is over 5,000 years old and recognized by the World Health Organization. Ayurveda teaches us how to live in harmony with ourselves and with the season. Ayurveda helps us understand who we are at our core and how to find and maintain balance, health and vitality. It’s about establishing diet and lifestyle practices that promote harmony.

I offer personal Ayurvedic diet/lifestyle consultations to optimize health and well-being and restore balance. My approach is both natural and gentle with a focus on simple but profound diet and lifestyle adjustments.

Investment is $250 and includes a two-hour consultation, written recommendations and a one-hour follow-up with revised recommendations. Subsequent sessions are $90 an hour.

Leigh provides lunchtime yoga to employees at our hospital. For each session, she integrates all of her wisdom to customize a 30 minute yoga practice that meets the needs of each participant who attends.
